There has been an escalation of events over the last few days. Sue Gray defecting to Labour. Privileges Committee releasing documents and further photos. Timing is everything! 1/5 I suspect the escalation is because the "Windsor Framework" on Northern Ireland is falling apart and is a death knell for #rishisunak.
If I am right then Rishi will not last long which will pave the way for a Boris return. 2/5

It's pretty clear that #borisjohnson was stitched up over Partygate and removed from office because of it. Boris was a democratically elected Prime Minister, winning 43 percent of the popular vote and an eighty-seat majority. Boris was the electorate's choice. 1/5 The question is what happens now because if there was no stitch-up then #borisjohnson would still be Prime Minister, and there would be no "Windsor Framework" and other important bills, Government would look different. 2/5

Boris Johnson to reject "Northern Ireland Windsor Framework"
#borisjohnson has raised concerns about #rishisunak's new Brexit deal for Northern Ireland and said he will find it "very difficult" to vote for it.
1/6
In a Westminster speech, the former Prime Minister said "I'm going to find it very difficult to vote for something like this myself because I believed we should've done something very different. No matter how much plaster came off the ceiling in Brussels

Three Prime Ministers in one year with #ConservativeParty members effectively disenfranchised from the process. Having voted for #borisjohnson and #liztruss we now have a Prime Minister rejected by members. 1/13 #democraticDOR is not against who leads our party so long as the members have their vote and endorse our leader. Any leader of our party needs the support of our membership. But it's not just a request it is our constitutional right! 2/13

#sunak & Co aren't even subtle about what they're doing, they think it's in the bag because they live in the bubble.

1. PARTY: They will render impotent, the Conservative Post petition - Sunak is already creating his own chosen member stooges to head it off at Conference 2. ECONOMY: #sunak said "profound economic crisis" setting the crisis in motion - even though that's patently not the case! This was supported by the useless OBR but worse, the Bank of England.

I have just returned from a three-week business trip to the Far East, taking in Singapore, Sydney, and Dubai.
It was my first business trip in three years due to the Covid-19 lockdowns. Whilst I was away, there was a change of Prime Ministers, which was done without the members of the Conservative Party having a vote.
The Conservative Parliamentary Party anointed a new Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and Jeremy Hunt as Chancellor, this is despite both candidates being rejected quite recently in leadership campaigns by the members of the Conservative Party.

When #borisjohnson became an MP in 2001, he was the highest-earning MP in Westminster, through journalism, public speaking, and book publishing.
It is reputed he was making over £1million per annum, without breaking a sweat. 1/6 He is a multiple best seller, and later this year he will publish his book on Shakespeare, which will immediately become a best seller in the U.K and U.S.A. If #borisjohnson chooses to, he can rake in millions by going on a book tour of the U.S.A. 2/6

Lots of speculation that Conservatives are so far behind in the polls that a Boris come back is inevitable. But why would Boris want to come back after the way he was treated by his colleagues in Parliament? 1/10 Some of them shook his hand whilst accepting a major cabinet position then resigned hours later to stab him in the back and force his resignation. Some of them were given major cabinet positions for the first time by Boris. 2/10

Here we go again! The 1922 committee will stop at nothing to get their man Rishi as PM. What is playing out now is a conspiracy to bring down #Truss by MPs loyal to Rishi supported by the 1922 committee. They will stop at nothing until their man is the leader. 1/10 There is no way Rishi can become Prime Minister without the help and support of the 1922 committee, as they control the rules and the processes to elect a new leader. 2/10

As reported in Saturday's Times Newspaper: The former deputy chief whip at the centre of the sleaze scandal that led to Boris Johnson’s downfall will not be investigated by the parliamentary watchdog over claims that he groped a young man. 1/12 Chris Pincher, who was the Conservative MP for Tamworth but sits as an independent after his suspension from the party, was reported to parliament’s Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS) in June by a young man who accused him of groping. 2/12

Liz Truss is now Prime Minister but the facts are that she became the PM without a general election, because Boris was forced to resign by a small cabal of MPs. This is despite winning a VONC and having been elected by a vast majority at the last General Election. 1/10 Boris was removed undemocratically, by MPs who claimed to have lost confidence in him. But was this the real reason? Or was it MPs trying to change the leadership for their own personal reasons with a total disregard for the British Electorate and Party members?

Conservative Party Members have through the constitutional structure, the power to change how the Conservative Party is run, to change the board, the constitution, the way leaders are elected, the role of MPs (within the Party) leadership campaigns, and much more besides. 1/14 The Conservative Party board runs most key areas of the Party but there are constant skirmishes between members, associations, voluntary service, and the board. Members feel disenfranchised over many issues, candidate selection is just one that springs to mind. 2/14

Yesterday I spoke about the amazing contribution Boris Johnson has made to the income of the Conservative Party and on the loss of that asset and the income stream. 1/21 As a businessman and if I was board member, before the loss of Boris, my immediate response would be to consider the financial consequences of that loss on the net worth of the Party and the “going concern” or ability of the Party to operate as a going concern going forward 2/21

Yesterday I made a number of observations on the financial benefits of having Boris as our leader as reflected in the Party financial statements. Now, let’s put some basic numbers to that for context. In 2017 the membership income was £835k, in 2020 it was £2million. That’s the 140% increase.Thats the “Boris Bounce”!
In 2016 there was a general election with Mrs May, remember that!
The party raised £34million from donors to help finance the election and the Party.

Can the Conservative Party survive without Boris?
The latest financial accounts available for the Conservative Party year ended 31st December 2020, meaning the 2021 accounts late for filing with the electoral commission (7/7/22). 1/8 The purpose of looking at the financial statements is to value the “financial Boris bounce” enjoyed by the party since 2017 and whether this is a matter of concern for the financial future of the Conservative Party. 2/8
