THREAD: USA Religious groups don’t pay property taxes because they provide a spiritual community service. Yet they close at night. What if- in order to stay tax free- they had to keep their doors open 24 hours & provide space 2 shelter/sleep? LA alone has over 3300 congregations. /2 Historically churches, mosques, synagogues and other houses of worship have provided solace and shelter for the most vulnerable citizens. With documentation going back thousands of years of folx sleeping, eating, and even hiding from the law within their walls.

THREAD: People who call me a SNOWFLAKE don’t realize that I actually love that assessment. Snow is an incredible element & to be aligned w/ something so unique and cool is absolutely a gift. Don’t believe me?

Here’s a thread on a few reasons why Snowflakes are awesome. #lgbtq 1: Every Snowflake is unique. As far as we know. Pft sure that may be a common one - but hey I do quite think it’s poetic to be seen as a unique entity that also is a part of a larger unit.

After Guatemala voted to slash more than $25 Million dollars from its Education & Healthcare budgets (essentially cutting food assistance programs by 60%)- while raising lawmaker benefits for themselves- the ppl are protesting. Especially w/ Hurricane zeta devastating thousands. Peacefully pushing back riot police, they made their way to congress where speeches were made. Then things escalated as a symbolic guillotine was brought in and a section of protesters set fire to portions inside the government building.

Even if a person were to get a job today magically- for many it would take minim 2 weeks for them to recieve their first check. Which would include only pay for the first week. For freelancers it can take 30-60 days to get paid on a contract. #unemploymentextension is needed. If the jobs market was reporting that there were 10 million+ unfilled jobs slots, there would be evidence that a hole is unfilled. (Controversially so) However only 1.8 million jobs were added last month with 30 million still unemployed. Even if ppl want to return it’s impossible

THREAD My parent is a #TrumpSupporter . As a #queer genderfree activist on the board of several movements from Justice for Black Lives to DACA protections, my life purpose is dismantling the very things he voted for. Here’s how our relationship has survived this conflict. 1/ /2 It hasn’t.

At least not in the traditional sense. We didn’t even talk for Fathers Day. Because as grateful as I am for my life and the fact that my parent had sex with someone and allowed me to survive thru birth- I know that right isn’t something he wants for all ppl.

I don’t identify as “male” or “female” but rather as I am I. However dating can be a very binary world. So I’ve spent the year conducting various studies about my experiences being perceived on dating apps as male vs female. Here’s some of what I found. #IAmI #lgbtq #genderqueer 1: I created a two dating profiles with the same photo. The same sexuality (open/bi). And the only differences were that one was “Male” and the other “Female”. I found that my “Male” profile got almost 200% more hits than the “female profile”.
