As the ICJ case is today brought by South Africa against Israel for its genocide in Gaza, it feels kinda personally and politically relevant to the small part of Ireland I grew up in.

Two names.

Majella O'Hare and
Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh

A 🧵

Majella O'Hare was 12 years old, when she was shot in the back and murdered by a British paratrooper as she walked to confession in the church next to St Malachy's primary school.

The paras tried to blame the IRA, and threatened and intimidate those who went to aid Majella Image

Being openly celebrated by Irish fascists soon after, as they claim this is as their own work.

This is the guy John McGhee who just interrupted the RTE news live broadcast.

Rabid and violent anti migrant homophobe. Last year McGhee admitted to removing LGBT flags from schools during the night
Not creepy.

Until not to long ago there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Not sure if that's still the case.

Getting solid information that neo nazi Sam Brittenden from New Zealand is intending to come to Ireland to join far-right religious cult SSPX Resistance based in West Cork.

This neo nazi should not be allowed into the country.

And the SSPX Resistance cult need to be broken up Image Neonazi Sam is a member of Action Zealandia, an accelerationist group in New Zealand that has plotted white nationalist terrorism.

Again Brittenden should be refused entry into Ireland.

1/ THREAD Over the course of the past 48 hours many of us have witnessed individuals and groups of the far right try to exploit the brutal murder of #AislingMurphy to further their own political goals. 2/ Over this time these men, particularly members and supporters of Justin Barrett's National Party, have tried to position themselves as caring about the safety of women living in Ireland.

We like to think we live in a part of the world that isn't *too* fucked up, given how fucked up things are.

Yet I'm seeing images and intel from a live murder investigation shared via phone devices on the same day a report is out on widespread police murder collusion in Ireland These two are in my mind together relating to horriblle real aspects of society, history and power that, we tend to only get space to think about when life makes it unavoidable. Like now

Struck again but how recursive and endless male violence is, how 'flat' and 'hopeless'...

There is an ongoing, high volume and coordinated effort on anti lockdown and far right adjacent Telegram groups over the past few days to target the National Parents’ Council Primary (NPC).

Do the NPC even know this, before giving comment?

irishtimes.com/news/education… Some background. This coordination against any measures that might better protect children and education workers in education settings is rooted in the belief that Covid is false.

And that lawyersforjustice @ Yahoo dot com are real.

First speech of today's demos

"This is war..
They are coming to kill you and that's the end of it...
You have to fight the militia..
Covid19 is a fake..
They are coming to steal your kids.."

Someone from the crowd shouts back "kill all the bastards"

Crowd erupts in cheers. Funny how many people want to mask up at the anti mask 'covid is fake' demo.

Take his lad for example.

What does he plan doing I wonder.

Nice grift selling ballys at the demo.

5 years ago there was a court case because someone insulted Michael D Higgins.

Now main protest organisers can share baseless accusations that Higgins was filmed abusing kids and people call for him to be killled.

Its all shrugged of as just @Facebook

farrightobservatory.medium.com/remembering-th… Ben Gilroy perfecting the grift. Having whipped up fear and hate, having fed into baseless accusations & conspiracy theories, having denied being an organiser while being an organiser?

Gilroy out asking for donations to fund himself.

Ten years on from the brutalising atrocity in Utoya, Norway, it is well past time Facebook is accountable for the impacts it is having on society in Ireland link.medium.com/bpZ8IOEy6hb Key to Breiviek’s actions was blending a belief in the collapse of Christianity in Europe — of a theocratic Christian Europe — and the need for its return and a desire for white nationalism to become normal and common sense.

Philip Dywer in the count centre with NP leader and #dbsbyelection candidate Justin Barrett.

An abysmal count so far and only a matter of time before Dywer and the Dublin core push to oust Barrett. Clearly the cleverer of the pair, Dywer took all the limelight in the campaign. 18 mths Covid-19
Multiple street demos
10,000's of leaflet drops
100's of hours creating & promoting social media content
Big canvas teams
And Barrett's full-time party wage from members subs.

Yet NP vote is *down 75%* on last general election.

67% of people - that's over 2/3 of respondents support current measure or want *stronger* measures right now to reduce #COVID19 in Irish society in a poll carried out by the Irish Times.

Here how the Irish Timespresents that finding in its own poll. This question doesn't even make sense and contains false equivalents.

- 'Living with Covid strategy' is not the same as 'getting back to normal.'

-Zero Covid is a contested term, but no description I've seen anywhere reduced complexity what the IT poll is saying it means.

Una McGurk has a new video up on the Irish Freedom Partys website. Headed by Hermann Kelly, the IFP pushes anti-migrant and anti-refugee hate

Una was this week booted off the International Protection Appeals Tribunal.

Every ITAP case she has been involved in need reexamination Image The IFP & Kelly push the 'Great Replacement' white supremacist conspiracy theory.

This 'theory' has been used by many white supremacist mass murderers.

Brutal acts of political violence driven by, and in some cases staged for, the international white nationalist movement.

1/ Thread: Big (and good) questions for #StopCeta, now Dail vote been kicked back to a committee. (Woop woop, yes give yourselves that) It's very clear that a none to small section *within* the Greens are winning so far. 2/ While until now, understandably, much focus has been on the Green party in gov as a whole, wider anti Ceta movement needs to go beyond. And definitely avoid the printed soap opera from pol corrs.

1/ On this day, 24 January 1919, staff and patients barricaded themselves inside the Monaghan Lunatic Asylum in Ireland and declared a soviet.

Text from @wrkclasshistory. 2/ The asylum staff had already shown militancy during a 1918 strike when they chased away visiting staff who attempted to cross the picket line. By 1919, attendants and nurses were working a 93-hour week and earning just £60-£70 per annum.

Parsing the data dump from Parler will take some time.

But just to give you an idea of its use.

This is a global shot of videos uploaded over a defined time period.

Fair to say Parler was mostly US users.

From this data set, UK (England?) was the second biggest user set Image The data set lets you drill down a fair bit. Each of those dots on the map is a geo-located video upload.
During the upload Parler -unlike say Twitter - retained location metadata. Sloppy operation.
Privacy probably not a big concern if your profiting off hate merchants... Image

This isn't misinformation

It's disinformation in that it's sharing knowing that it's false information

From a gov minister at the peak of a pandemic they have lost control of and trying to blame those doing the actual frontline care work

Woeful stuff Hmmm shannonside.ie/news/local/lei…

While people are out volunteering to help with vaccines, and wages have been effectively stagnant for most of the population, this TD is happy to bump up their own wages on the Monday to Friday......
