A disaster was reported at Raini village at around 1045 am, affecting two dam sites in Chamoli. Immediate instructions were issued to take stock of the situation and take emergency measures. Simultaneously, state’s disaster response mechanism was activated. #Uttarakhand

#RispanatoRishiparna -reviving Rispana is not only important from the water conservation standpoint but is also testimony of the bravery and vision of likes of Rani Karnavati of Uttarakhand. Rajpur canal- which take waters from Rispana- was built by visionary Rani Karnawati...
This Rajpur canal, was later expanded by Captain Cautely (1844)- man who is credited with building Upper Ganga Canal in 1860s. By reviving Rispana, we hope to bring back the glory of Doon valley - I appeal to all Doonites to support my #RispanaToRishiparna initiative.
