Q1 How credible is this info?
A- Comes from a former @IAF_MCC officer who was part of MMRCA selection process . Currently with BJP.
Q2- How 200?
A- 114 MMRCA+ 57 IN + 29 to replace M2000 in early 2030's.
The 29+36 #Rafale will replace the entire M2000 fleet.
Q3 Money?
A- Deal value estimated at nearly $30Bn spread over 12-13 yrs starting 2022.
The GOI will be a 50% partner ,also Dassault has committed to increase local sourcing to upto 75% of jet value for the later 150 aircraft.
Means this will pump money into #India .
Q4- FCAS?
A- Very nascent stage as on date, could go either way. There is a better chance the AMCA will become a joint project with Dassault.
Q-Civilian business falcons?
A- Likely to continue as usual. The GOI will be a sleeping partner in DAIL with most management decisions being taken by @Dassault_OnAir .
Q- Why will chota let go?
A- He's pretty much bankrupt. Needs the cash.

Q- Why #Rafale ? Why not another #jet?
A- The @IAF_MCC wants a jet from a nation where it can reasonably be sure of no sanctions in situations like the #Pokharan #nuclear tests.
That leaves only #France & #Russia . Then technology leaves the #Rafale far ahead of the MIG35.
