Joined citizens of Delhi at India Gate where Hon’ble MoS @HardeepSPuri launched various activities under #SwachhataHiSeva being organised to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of #MahatmaGandhi.
I was delighted at the large turnout even in the early hours.

It was wonderful to see young children dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi & several others holding posters & placards with messages for #Swachhata.

We also launched a film on Google Toilet Locator. GTL is a useful application particularly for people on the move. It allows them to find the nearest Swachh public toilet.
57,000 toilets across 2,300 cities are already on record on @googlemaps & more than 2.5 lakh citizens search for these Swachh Public Toilets every month.
A plogging run was also flagged off during #SwachhataHiSeva event. Plogging is a fun innovation that blends health & cleanliness during which people can pick up garbage during their morning walks & jogs.

A Delhi Cyclists Plog run was also flagged off today, where cyclists will cover a large area, & pick up garbage while cycling by using a stick.
Several other innovative initiatives have been taken up. NDMC has put up a stall where old garments can be converted into cloth bags of various sizes at a very nominal price. This stall will remain in the lawn in front of India Gate till 4th October 2019.
