While all indicators suggest AL’s #StayAtHome order is working, I can’t over-emphasize how imperative it is to keep doing what we are doing. Now is not the time to let our guard down. We must all continue to do our part to #StopTheSpread of #COVID19. #TogetherAL 1/7
While some of the modeling suggests our efforts are paying dividends, many around the state are beginning to ask what our plans are to begin reopening parts of our economy. #TogetherAL 2/7
I’ve asked @willainsworthAL & the Small Business Commission to begin looking for ways where we can restart the economic engine of our state. They will present a set of recommendations by this Friday. #TogetherAL 3/7
My office has also reached out to each of our congressional members to look at this from a district point of view. They were all eager to help and will be presenting their suggestions by April 22. #TogetherAL 4/7
My staff & I are looking at every suggestion in earnest. I intend to ask six members of my Coronavirus Task Force to serve as an Executive Committee to vet these ideas & develop a well-planned timetable for us to open our economy back up. #TogetherAL 5/7
These recommendations will be carefully integrated with advice from Dr. Harris & our team of medical experts. By April 28, Dr. Harris & I will review these suggestions & provide an updated plan of action before the #StayAtHome order expires on April 30. #TogetherAL 6/7
