The #FususalHikma was a popular work in #SafavidIran attributed to #Farabi (d. 950) although it seems to bear the marks of #Avicennian metaphysics and its terms 1/
The authorship was discussed around 70 years ago in two classic articles 2/
#Intisharat_e_Mawla published it in a #Persian translation with three famous sets of glosses that indicate its popularity in #SafavidIran and #QajarIran 3/
The first of these is by Sayyid Ismail Shanb Ghazani (d. 928/1522) a student of Davani (d. 908/1502) who lived in #Tabriz in the early #Safavid period and is published with the glosses of #MirDamad (d. 1040/1631) mktba.alfeker.net/library.php?id… 4/
The second is the famous Sayyid Jalal al-Din Ashtiyani (d. 2005) who had studied the text and continued its teaching from Mirza Mahdi Ashtiyani (1888-1952) 5/
The third is by Mirza Mahdi Ilahi Qumshihi (1901-1973) a well known teacher of #Avicennian philosophy in #Tehran magiran.com/paper/1618755 6/
#Safavids rediscovered #Farabi as part of their revival of #Neoplatonism - alongside the #Fusus as a #pseudoFarabian text they were interested two other attributed texts and one genuine text 8/
The genuine work was Treatise on intellect mktba.alfeker.net/library.php?id… 9/
This was rendered into French with a commentary by Philippe Vallat 10/
Another work of influence on this topic was Alexander of Aphrodisias on the intellect ikiu.ac.ir/public-files/p… both are cited in full in #MullaSadra 11/
There was a conference in Porto in February on this theme 12/
Two other pseudo #Farabi texts were Harmonisation of #Plato and #Aristotle which Marwan Rashed has established came same milieu as #TheologiaAristotelis 13/
And the other was ‘Uyun al-masa’il which is very much like #Fusus in its #Avicennism 14/
