1/6 #COVID19 has severely impacted seniors, particularly residents of long-term care & assisted living homes (accounting for >80% of all deaths in Canada). Loved ones & all those who work daily with our seniors feel this great loss. #ProtecttheVulnerable

2/6 As we mark #NationalNursingWeek I would like to thank the #nurses & coworkers: #personalsupportworkers, orderlies, attendants & other essential service providers who deliver care and services to our elders, parents & grandparents. #Nurses2020

3/6 #HealthCareWorkers working with #OlderAdults not only deliver health & personal care services, but also offer the companionship, personal interaction & human kindness that is as vital to wellbeing as any medicine. #COVID19 #nurses #Nurses2020

4/6 During #COVID19 their work has become immeasurably harder. Nevertheless, they have shown up - worked long hours, taken extra shifts, and in some cases isolated from their families. #ForOurGrandparents

5/6 Tragically, some, including #personalsupportworkers, orderlies & patient attendants have lost their lives due to #COVID19. Their loss is painfully felt by loved ones, colleagues, community. With respect & condolences we grieve with them. #COVIDLoss

6/6 On this 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth –shine a light in your window to thank #nurses for their valuable work & extend thanks to those who work alongside them around the clock, to be there when we need them most! #Nurses2020
