Let’s talk schools opening up and what’s not being talked about. #thread #SchoolReopening #COVID19
We have seen a few school opening plans to date and one theme seems to be present in them, what to do with the fucking sick.
Yes they have temp checks at the doors or getting on the bus and questionares about sickness but mostly nothing about if an outbreak happens.
We have yet to see a plan that requires a PCR test for everyone to be in the school. Students teachers and staff to establish a base line starting point before the opening.
One plan mentioned case notification and in school contract tracing but not who/ how/ or what that would look like.
Ppl need to rethink what a school actually is. In terms of an infectious disease it’s a fucking city like NY.
Commuters (kids) come in, they work, interact and then go home. Transmitting and spreading just like in a city.
When you look at it this way, work from home makes sense and allows others that have to go in, to do so at a lower risk rate.
The fact that kids are less affected by #COVID19 is a straw man arguement. No study to date has shown that they transmit the virus less. (If you find one, drop that shit, we want to read it)
Look this all fucking sucks and we are going to loose a generation of knowledge in this but until we rethink and rephrase this arguement about opening, it’s going to go fucking badly and extend our time in this dick hole of a pandemic.
