Note: expect no details on what he’s doing to stop 67% of all deaths being in those facilities. Just “more testing”

Maybe a reporter w/ some stones will choose to press @GovAndyBeshear on why he’s overseeing so many long term care deaths but lecturing the gen public where only 33% of deaths are. Nursing homes = 0.5% of population!

Secretary of cabinet for health and family services, Friedlander, takes the podium complete with face mask hanging on one ear.

Says he signed a contract to allow labs to bill cabinet directly for testing in nursing home facilities. Testing every two weeks for staff.

Note: What? Two weeks?? That’s a long gap! No wonder cases continue to spread! Why not require staff to isolate?

This is ridiculous. Millions of dollars for field hospitals, but can’t perhaps provide temporary housing for staff to avoid contact with #Covid_19 and spread??? Think outside the box @GovAndyBeshear!

Question is about college students and universities testing after travel from out of state.

Beshear says plan is “in flux”. Wants robust testing but “face limitations”. Keeping harping on cases is southern states (3rd time at least).

Beshear talks about spacing out on college campuses. Dorms, classes, etc. says its a big challenge but can be done.

Beshear asked about name change of @Rupp_Arena. Deflects and refuses to answer. What’s to see UKs statement.

Question about social distancing and weddings and if there are fines.

He says how would they view a wedding if they got people sick.

@GovAndyBeshear says study says kids over 10 may spread as much as an adult and under may not as much. “It’s tough” he says. Mentions lack of information.

@GovAndyBeshear says that’s the report of a lab. Says that’s 26/30,000. Says there will be issues with a brand new system and brand new virus. Says there will be “issue here & there.”
