With 26 top terrorist commanders killed in 7 months, there are less than 200 active #Terrorists in Kashmir with 50 active in North #Kashmir. Terrorists are shifting focus to North Kashmir but they are in for a “Grand Welcome” here by the #IndianArmy.

On 17 Aug three #Terrorists including 2 top LeT commanders Sajad alias Haider who was the successor of Bhuran Wani & #Pak terrorist Usman were eliminated in an encounter at Kreeri, Baramulla North #Kashmir. 05 security personnel made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

On 19 Aug two #Terrorists including top LeT commander Naseer-ud-Din Lone were eliminated in an #encounter at #Ganipora- Kralgund area of #Handwara North #Kashmir. Naseer was a sharpshooter & was involved in killing 07 security personnel. This was a big blow for LeT.

On 22 Aug another #terrorist was killed in the encounter that broke out with hiding #Terrorists during an anti-terrorist operation of the security forces in the #Saloosa area of #Kreeri in north #Kashmir's #Baramulla district.

On 22 Aug again five ISJK #Terrorist’s associates were arrested from Bandipora District of north #Kashmir. Incriminating material including Matrix Sheets, ISJK Flags & ammunition were also recovered from their possession.

On 31 Aug a grenade attack was carried out on Army convoy in Azaz Gunj area of #Baramulla injuring 06 civilians. 02 person involved in the grenade attack were arrested the very next day during nocturnal raid.

In a major setback to Hizb operations in North #Kashmir, on 7 Sept #Army eliminated 03 Hizb #terrorists in an #Encounter at #Yedipora #Pattan after successfully evacuating civilians stuck in houses. While evacuating civilian an #Army Major was hit & sustained injuries.

On 7 sept, another #terrorist was eliminated by #IndianArmy in an encounter at #Kawsa Khalsa area of #BUDGAM north #Kashmir. The body of the terrorist was recovered from Sukhnag Nala after 5 days of consistent search operation by the Marine Commandos.

Security forces got another major success on 10 Sept when they arrested 02 JeM #Terrorists with 01 AK Rifle, 1 Mag 30 rounds, 02 Grenandes & INR 7 Lacs Cash at Durgmulla #Kupwara. The terrorists belonged to Sopore & were visiting #Kupwara to recruit youths in their rank.

On 11 Sept Security Forces again arrested an active Al-Badr #terrorist & his two associates from Dangerpora Sopore busting an Al Badr terrorist outfit module involved in grenade attack on Warpura Police Station on 30th Aug 2020.

There are newly formed outfits like The Resistance Front (TRF) & PAFF, which claimed responsibility for a series of militant attacks in Kashmir Valley in the past two months, are eyeing to rake up Terrorism in North #Kashmir.

The reason behind creating "TRF" & “PAFF” which appears "less religious", is a result of threat from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to #Pakistan for backing terrorism in #Kashmir. The "re-branding" of these outfits was also done to give them international appeal.
