(1/10)🧐Ready to switch from $BSC or $ETH over to $FTM and wondering how to get started?
📙Here is everything you need to successfully start interacting on the #Fantom network and enjoying <1s TTF and near free transactions.
Let's get started 👇
(2/10) The first thing you will need to do is to add the $FTM opera network to your metamask🦊 extension.
I'm assuming of course that you already have @MetaMask on your Browser
✅Here are the exact settings you need as well as a step by step tutorial put out by @FantomFDN
(3/10) Network Name: Fantom Opera
New RPC Url: rpcapi.fantom.network
ChainID: 250
Symbol: FTM
Block Explorer URL: ftmscan.com

(4/10) 💸Once you have the proper network you will need native $FTM in your wallet to transact.
Treat $ftm the way you would treat $ETH on Ethereum. This is what pays the (almost non-existent) gas fees.
Only #opera network $ftm will work. ERC-20 must be converted.
(5/10) The simplest way of getting $ftm is simply to buy it on binance and select the opera network when withdrawing.
However for folks in the USA (or countries where @binance is blocked) this might get tricky. Here are a couple of options.
(6/10) You can purchase ERC-20 FTM on @SushiSwap
To convert it you have two bridges to choose from.
#1 is to use multichain.xyz which works very well.
#2 is to use the native $ftm f-wallet which has a built in ERC-20 -> Opera Bridge.

(7/10) The fees will vary depending upon which method you choose. To use the native F-wallet integration simply choose to connect your metamask🦊 and click the receive button.
Then Choose the Ethereum network and follow the instructions.
(8/10) 📦Send your ERC-20 FTM to the designated address shown. After it is confirmed on $ETH click the "Confirm Deposit" button.
The system will then confirm the deposit and instantly send your new Opera $FTM to your metamask.🦊
(9/10) Now that your wallet 💰is setup and funded you will need some exchanges to start you on your journey.
@SpookySwap
@Spirit_Swap
@SushiSwap
@hyper_swap
All have $FTM native dex integrations that work very well. Visit their twitter profiles for official URLs
(10/10) That's pretty much it! From there I strongly recommend getting to know the community and following the accounts that are dedicated to the success of $FTM and their telegrams.
Good luck and enjoy the speed and efficiency of a new world of $FTM #Defi!
I want to mention that since $FTM is EVM compatible you can use the same private keys (json file etc...) for both networks. Your account is the same on both networks. 👇
So, if you accidentally send ERC20 tokens thinking they will arrive on opera and they don't then just switch networks and add the FTM contract (ERC20) to your metamask and they will appear.

Binance Chain deposits of $ftm to the fwallet are also working well if you want to use it as a bridge.
Follow the same instructions from steps 7 and 8 in the guide above. Just select #Binance Chain as your receiving address and you should be good to go.

If you need a small amount of $ftm for gas then you can read this thread about interacting with the $ftm faucet on the official discord server.
Update 5-20-21 - @AnyswapNetwork now offers bridging of $BNB from #BSC to $FTM directly. This is a really simple method to go from #BSC to #Fantom and I recommend using that.
multichain.xyz is the place to do this.
