special Pooja in the Kovil held at Rahu Kalam, In this mandir, Maa Durga is faced towards East direction. Agastya Maharishi did pratishta of Durga Mata and Mirugandar Rishi worshipped this Maa Durga. As per sattology, Presiding deity is Maa Durga Parameswari. It is believed
that she visits Kasi during the night times and comes back every day. When Agastya Maharishi came to this vanam, He prayed Maa Durga. Markandeya Maharshi also worshipped the Maa Durga Parameswari. The actual name of the village is Kathir Veaintha Mangalam.
Usually, In all mandirs, Maa Durga is one among the deities, but the separate mandir for Durga Mata is in Kathiramangalam. The kovil is facing east direction.
Here the Durga Mata is in the Padma Peedam where as in other mandir Maa Durga is in Simha or Mahisha Vahanam. Bhaktas are blessed with abundance, peace and harmony, indebtedness, bonding, reunion of married couples.
