1/9 Greek FM hs said INDIA, GREECE & UAE will hold a trilateral dialogue. WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
1️⃣Turkey cld be looking to acquire NUCLEAR wpns(rpts Greek media).
2️⃣ Greece dominates the sea opening towards Turkey via CRETE island.👇
India & UAE might utilise it.

2/9 Crete played a significant role during US’s missions in middle east.
Island ws under Ottoman control earlier.
3️⃣Partnering with Greece comes with another benefit for UAE & INDIA—v use similar platforms like Mirage 2000 (Greece & India) & #Rafale (UAE,Grc & Ind).But

3/9 Qatar recently agreed to deploy 36 of it’s fighter jets in Turkey, which inclds Mirage 2000 & Rafale. Media reports speculate, these can be accessed by Pakistani & Turkish pilots. For obvious reasons this hasn’t gone down well with India & Greece. (pic Pak-Turk joint ex 👇)

6/8 UN Security Council: INDIA won its seat for 2021-2022 with 184 votes. No joke!!! UAE hs won the same seat for 2022-2023. GREECE will tk the plunge in 2024-2025. Also GREECE supports expansion of #UNSC, and that INDIA shld b one of the permanent members of UNSC.

7/8 Problem is Turkey-Pak-Qatar alliance which hs kept India, Greece & UAE on its toes. Bt then foreign affairs dont have jst BLACK & WHITE zones, it hs some GREY zones too. For example 1️⃣Turkish company will help build NAVAL vessels in Vizag.👇2️⃣Greece-China r close.

Not maintaining cordial relations with others works against a nation—is a FACT! Yet, a country hs to prepare itself for eventualities in case relations go sour.

9/9 If u hv lasted this long on my thread— let me inform u this is the 1st time in 18 years/ 2 DECADES that an Indian FM went to Greece. India has changed its style of functioning, we are finally expanding our HORIZONS. Kudos @narendramodi & @DrSJaishankar!!!👏👏

Someone might point out UNSC is a redundant agency. Well if so, why do so many countries want to b part of it? Plus I believe in — “jahan hum khade hote hai wahan se line start hoti hai”. Replace HUM with INDIA. 😇

The above are my notes on Greece-UAE & India, something which I hd bn brainstorming with few of my close frens since last few days. The above thread is open for discussion. You can add or counter the points. 😊👍
