🧵2/7 Any region hoping to achieve full #EconomicInclusion & prosperity must address institutional disparities. That includes recognizing the negative impact legacies of racist and/or exclusionary policies had on residents & taking steps to correct those errors. #CRISPresearch

🧵3/7 #CRISPresearch analysts recommend developing plans to create wealth-building opportunities for people in groups that have historically been kept on the margins of the economy. To do that, leaders first need to assess & eliminate policies that reinforce economic disparities.

🧵4/7 To ensure inclusive #EconomicGrowth, local leaders must also understand that there are prerequisites for fully participating in the economy. Advocating for affordable #housing, public transportation, etc. is necessary to increase these opportunities for marginalized groups.

🧵5/7 Developing an #inclusive #economy extends beyond creating opportunities. Leaders should reduce the use of tax districts that only allow public💰to be used in areas experiencing growth. Instead, direct public funding & small business development to areas that need it most.

🧵6/7 With an eye on community #equity, the #CRISPresearch team also recommends leaders empower/partner w/locals to lead improvements in their neighborhoods & develop policies to create healthier places around #Indy that prioritize #PublicHealth
