(I’m a bit confused here - I thought this was meant to be a Stadler ex-WESTbahn EMU. And then the issue of course is: if it’s a replacement train, does it have the same features, at least in terms of accessibility?)

And it’s @interrail app WTF again. DB tells me there’s a 10:35 train Dresden Neustadt to Görlitz. But it’s not in the Interrail app.

Meanwhile the air in the old Intercity is pretty good. But it’s also rather empty

And I’m back at Dresden Neustadt. And I’ll be back again later today 🙂

Interior design of trains *matters*

The overhead luggage rack on this Desiro Classic DMU is *massive*. The folded Birdy fits up there no problem

Sorry for the poor pic, but there are at least 4 new ex-Bombardier Talent 3 EMUs built for ÖBB but that ÖBB refused to accept parked up at Bautzen. There are more at Görlitz and perhaps more at Hennigsdorf too. Could some other operator have a look at these? 15kV, 160km/h…

Poland 🇵🇱 (to the right, towards Zgorzelec) has electrified its line to the middle of the bridge over the Neiße

Germany 🇩🇪 (to the left, towards Görlitz) has not

The masts end in the middle of the bridge 🤦‍♂️

I’ll let you work out which side is 🇨🇿 and which side is 🇵🇱
