Pleased to report that our paper is now out in eLife. elifesciences.org/articles/75705 #postdocs #phdlife #phdchat #AcademicTwitter #AcademicChatter #mentalhealth @eLifeCommunity @nationalpostdoc @FuturePI_Slack 1/5
The impact of the pandemic on postdocs has been tremendous and we show that institutional support plays a massive role in alleviating stressors faced by postdocs. 2/5
We hope this paper provides empirical evidence for how important mental health resources, PDAs and PDOs are for the wellbeing of our postdoctoral population and ensures continued funding and support for these assets. 3/5
As we witness many reports of disenchantment and resignations among postdocs, we hope our paper was able to bring to light some of the ways in which the pandemic has turned our lives upside down and that it is important our voices are heard. 4/5
Again, we couldn’t have done this without all the postdocs that replied to the survey, we hope we represented you well and we will continue to do so. And all the PDAs and PDOs out there, we see you and we are grateful for you 5/5

PDAs are postdoc run, who volunteer their (precious) time to ensure our voices reach decision making entities. PDOs ensure our professional and resource needs are met. They are essential and should be rightly funded. Give them your love. We could not do without ours! @bsdpostdoc
