While normally Greg doesn’t #worry, in this case, he succumbed to fear of change.

He was screaming and Crying in Fear - see tweet below.

How did he get through it?
What did he teach me?

2/ Greg held his head in his hands and trembled with worry.

We were disrupting his usual Saturday of watching “I Love Lucy.”

Think Rain Man type of dependence on routine &
that’s Greg.

So when Kim and I took him to the mountains, it totally messed him up.

What happened?

3/ At first Greg got angry with us for taking him on this trip.

I mean, REALLY angry.

And we know that #ANGER is just one letter away from #DANGER.

He was heading in a dangerous path of rejecting something that could be healing & good in his life.

4/ His fear & anger took Greg OUT OF THE MOMENT & left him in a time he couldn’t control.

Past & future both fall into “time” we can’t control & into unconsciousness.

His beautiful #simplicity had been compromised.

5/ Our lizard brain takes us unwittingly into time we have no control over.

This is essentially being unconscious, and that is where Greg found himself.

Once he allowed himself to flow into the moment as we went down the highway, he began to relax and sing songs.

6/ Once at the lake, Greg had a picnic lunch.

Then we went into our canoe, He and Kim laughed and rowed!

The hawks above looked down on them as they soared. The fish below swam and jumped.

Once IN TIME, all was well.

Worrying is like a rocking chair…

📍When I worry, I’m doing something but getting nowhere.
📍From Greg, I witnessed what I let defeat me in my own life.
📍Getting out of step with time, I lose.
📍When I stay connected to the NOW, I win.
