Ada is an ancient village certainly having historical background behind it. There are some images related to Brahmanical faith present in this village. The early Uma-Maheswar image kept in front of the Chateswar Mahadeva temple is a fine specimen of Kalingan iconography.

At the far end of the village a mound-like place addressed as 'Uaasa' by the villagers, stands a later-built temple dedicated to Narayana & in front of this temple the Jain Antiquities are found scattered all around. A ruined temple structure of 8-10th century is found there

#Jain antiquities are widely found in the surrounding areas like Charampa, Kupari, Podasingidi etc. all within close proximity of Ada. With all possibilities #Jainism was propagating at this place once upon a time, he says.

These neglected #Jain antiquities raise serious questions over the credibility & intentions of the State Archaeology Department & @ASIGoI. The images are kept exposed to weathering that has already caused serious damage to their iconography.

Villagers demand building of a site museum ensuring proper placement of the antiquities. But are the concerned depts aware of the presence & current status of these rare images?? If they are, then what is obstructing them for the revival of this Ancient Archaeological site??

@Deepak4Heritage was inspired about Ada's Jain antiquities from a social media post by Manoj Kumar Panda, a local from this region, he is advocating for their conservation since a long time. 🙏🏼 Thanks him for his assistance.
