Today is #NationalHandloomDay. Handwoven textiles are the original #MakeInIndia product. The handloom sector employs the second largest no of people in India after agriculture, in weaving as well as in ancillary activities like dyeing, spinning, setting up the loom, starching etc
Every state in India has its own tradition of hand-woven textiles. The known history of Indian hand-woven textiles goes back to almost 5000 years, and many of the weaves are still continuing to be woven in an unbroken, living tradition. #NationalHandloomDay #HandloomTwitter
People from the Sindhu-Saraswati civilzation has mastered weaving weaving. A madder-dyed scrap of fabric found at Mohenjo-Dado proves that our people knew the art of growing cotton, spinning yarn, weaving cloth as well as dyeing yarn using natural colours. #NationalHandloomDay

While I was in #Odisha, it was fascinating to spend time with the potters of Goudaguda village in #Koraput. There are about 20-30 potters in the colony and it’s possible to watch them at work. This is the start of the #pottery process, mixing up the clay.
This makes it easy to pick up the clay.
Mixing the clay is a very physically demanding process!

Thread on some #KeyTakeaways from #LokSabhaElections2019 results:
1. There was always a #Modi wave but the #LeLi Commentariat insisted it was an undercurrent against Modi and #BJP.
2. Losses in Rajasthan, MP and Chhattisgarh in 2018 were an aberration and not a trend. 1/n
3. Vote transfers do not happen between historically hostile parties. Anticipated vote transfer did not happen in #UP. SP-BSP #MahaGathBandhan was nonstarter.

5. Mamata Banerjee underestimated Hindu backlash to her brazen Muslim appeasement and pandering to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
6. She overestimated the ability of party goons to strike fear among voters. It took 34 years for LF to unravel; TMC less than 10 years. 3/n

@ani7709 Nagpur - BJP

Although there may not be lead as much as last time for BJP, BJP is in comfortable position to win this seat.

Nana Patole uplifted spirit of INC cadre as he fought against heavyweight minister Gadkari. Gadkari couldn't move out of Nagpur for a while in this phase.
@ani7709 Bhandara-Gondiya - BJP

A neck to neck contest. BJP put a good fight in by poll held previously. Due to Nana Patole moved to Nagpur to contest, BJP somewhat got a relief to make this seat workout.
Both BJP & NCP put fresh candidates. It is going to be a cadre vs cadre fight.
@ani7709 Gadchiroli-Chimur - BJP
No any other CM has visited Gadchiroli as much as Devendra Fadnavis did. Development work has put edge to BJP in this seat.
