I have been thinking about samosas for the last week & here is a thread about them. For starters the Samosa comes from West Asia and was originally meat wrapped in a dough cone and fried - the sambusak! The only truly veg versions are all Indian! #Samosa #Sambusak #PunjabiSamosa
I grew up in Mumbai eating what is now known as the Parsi/Bohri Samosa and which I simply knew as a Samosa. Lightly spiced lamb mince cooked with onions, green chillies and corriander, stuffed into a triangular pocket made from flat precooked sheets of samosa patti. #Samosa
These were then slowly fried in hot (not too hot) oil till golded brown & served with a typically Parsi Green chutney made with coconut, mint, corriander, peppercorns, green chutney & lime juice. These treats were rare and cherished! #Samosa

At Lucknow food stall @hunarhaat BKC Mumbai, guy on the counter very proudly bragged to me repeatedly,
“मैं शुजा उद दौला की 14वीं पीढ़ी हूँ, लखनऊ नाम उन्होंने ही दिया लक्ष्मणपुरी से बदल के”
An average muzlim still believes Hindus are his subjects!
Realize yet, what we are in for?
Says @naqvimukhtar , @hunarhaat provides employment to craftsmen & traditional culinary experts- indeed to Shuja-ud-Daula’s descendent (from 1000th concubine)😅
Don’t believe me?

Hunar Haat exhibitions are organised under the USTTAD scheme of the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
Hindus, you’ve given no Art, No Handicraft to your country, the credit of all HUNAR in Bharat goes to Mughal aulaads, hence it needs promotion!
From the said 1,000 artisans, max’re M ‘traders’ from Saharanpur, Moradabad,Bhadohi,Khurja, few from Bhagalpur, fewer from Gujrat, M.P

Thread on the Excavation in Odisha;

The ruined ancient temples towards the north-east flanks of the Suka Sari shrine are being excavated by the Archeological Survey of India. The ancient Vishnu Murthy was found 7days before (from today) during the excavation of another shrine.
The structure is believed to be of 7th century.
Another structure of the Entrance towards the Garbha-griha (Sanctum) of a temple was found where 3 lattice windows are unearthed till now and I saw that it's a ditto of Parshurameshwara Temple. A measure thing I noticed is the
sitting sculpture of Maa Uma & Maheswar which is quite similar to the Murthy in Parshurameshwara Temple wall (Left side of the temple's face) The experts assume that this temple was constructed much before the Suka Sari Temple (13th-14th century) and Shree Lingaraj Temple

Time for another short story

A small river/stream existed near Angul #Odisha. The land around it was allotted to JSPL for development...
The company thought the course of the river was too disturbing and decided to change the course of the river.
However there were other smaller streams that were draining into it (obviously) & since the new course didnt account it, they started stagnating (marked in white circle)
No matter how much they filled the land, it continued stagnating and creating issues for authorities and farmers nearby.
