#A380 #Boeing #Airbus #avgeek - The world's largest passenger plane, the wide-body two-story Airbus A380, entered service with @SingaporeAir in Oct. 2007. 254 built through 2021 when production ended. @Emirates bought ~half. 1/ @Sylvia70485099
2/ I love Boeing B-747s, but the A380 feels even bigger and statelier despite the decidedly awkward proportions in these glamor shots. :) The project started as the A3XX in the mid-1990s. Surprisingly, neither was the first double-decker passenger liner.
3/ The A380's major components come from across Germany, England and Spain (and elsewhere?) with final assembly in #Toulouse, France, long a big French assembly hub. This collaboration has always been part of the multinational Airbus company's model.
4/ The A380's configurations range from 525 to, no thank you, 850 passengers! Per en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A3…... Dimensions: 238' 7" l x 261' 8" w x 79' tall. Yeah, look up at the tail! Fuselage: 23' 5" wide. 561 mph; 9,200 mi range; 43,000' ceiling.
5/ @Emirates had @Airbus install showers on each 1st Class section (one per deck)! Airbus didn't think it could do it but managed anyway. Their First-Class seating and First-Class cabins are unbelievable. Who wants one? Yeah, me too. #Luxury #Travel #A380
@emirates @Airbus 6/ #A380 is the world’s largest commercial airliner and with #RussiaArmy’s destruction of #An225, now the world’s largest plane. Giant windows. VERY roomy and quiet. Some @Lufthansa A380s (e.g. Delhi-#FRA) have ~20 economy class seats at the back top deck.
