We must stop taking these things lighter than we have in past situations.
The two examples are only proof that the govts of #Pakistan have underestimated the depth of the #radicalization of the population.
While some have been fully radicalized to commit #terrorist attacks, others are working in various capacities at different levels.
The threading of shops could be seen the first step of violent #radicalization.
After being “converted,” this is their first public declaration of their “faith” to their “teachers.”
The next step invites involvement in recruitment & fundraising for the “cause” of #Jihad.
We say cause because jihad is 99% internal to a person and only then 1% external to the world. #Terrorism is not jihad.
From here, they proceed to camps for basic para-military training & a significantly deeper indoctrination.
#ISIS modified this model in 2 ways.
1) They radicalized digitally
2) They trained thos who came to fight, but sent them home to further radicalize.
The last is the 1% the world sees - #terrorism.
This is where the “believer” dies for someone else’s ideology.
