I’m annoyed at the way she asked the question as if doubt is reasonable when it comes to race based voter suppression in this country or the SCOTUS didn’t just dismantle the VRA in 2013. Wake the fuck up already, White supremacy takes no breaks.

What part of Obama’s election in 2008 and re-election in 2012 scared the shit out of the White power structure to the extent that they brought back Jim Crow with a vengeance to eliminate their predominantly Black competition from the voting rolls are folk still not understanding?

It really can’t be said enough that the @GOP’s intellectually bankrupt when it comes to public policy/governance and must necessarily wage an endless culture war in order to win votes for their oligarchy. Folk are still mistaking their racism and xenophobia for economic populism.

It’s painfully clear that the GOP’s tax scam only benefited the wealthy, but the kicker is they’re under ZERO pressure to defend their fiscal record to their “economically anxious” party base b/c their superseding need for racism and misogyny has been met.

They feel emboldened by their success in “ramming” the Kavanaugh nomination through and are now indulging in unbridled racism and disenfranchisement of their non-White opposition to further invigorate GOP voters who wanted an angry assertion of White supremacist power in America.

The @GOP will continue to dive into the depths of deplorable because White American culture as a whole isn’t policing itself away from apartheid, it’s just letting the shit run rampant and wild because skin privilege makes this toxic climate tolerable for those who have it.

Slavery, Native “reservations” and Jim Crow happened in this country because there was sufficient White support for it. Migrant kids are in cages and separated from their families for the same reasons. This American nightmare hasn’t ended because it’s a feature, not a bug.

The Black vote has been suppressed since the arrival of the first slave ships, they never intended for us to be granted the same rights and privileges of equal citizenship and are STILL trying to undo every gain we’ve ever made on American soil. Put that in your pipe & smoke it.

Likewise, White supremacy will be damned if it’s gonna let the Black electorate (that it doesn’t even think should exist here in the 1st place) wrestle power from its hands and expand not only Black civil rights but those of women, Latinos, Muslims & the LGBTQ community. Damned.

They blame Black people for not just the Obama presidency, but also Bill Clinton’s and the entire modification of the Constitution that occurred in response to the Civil Rights Movement in the 60s. They blame us for every morsel of undue privilege they’ve lost in the modern era.

They’re intent on specifically disenfranchising Black America because centuries of oppression have rendered us damn near unanimously immune to Republican propaganda. They hate us for our political intuition and what little freedom we have to exercise it in this country.

They will fight like hell to not only stop Black Americans from voting, but also to prevent Latino Americans from voting in the same proportion as their percentage in the population. They can’t risk integration of people or ideas that don’t uphold White supremacy/theocracy.

If you’re a White moderate who’s witnessing the widespread assault on the voting rights, citizenship and equal humanity of non-White people in this country but not pragmatically and meaningfully USE YOUR UNMOLESTED VOTE to defeat the GOP, you’re no fucking better than they are.

Y’all can’t just keep relying on ppl of color to assume the mantle of civil rights at the ballot box on everyone else’s behalf when it’s patently fucking obvious that our suffrage itself is STILL UNDER ACTIVE ATTACK. Understand the SOS you’ve been given.

Make no mistake that the @GOP is and always has been terrified of the power of the Black vote. They were stunned when Black voters defeated Roy Moore in Alabama and have been ratcheting up their voter suppression efforts across the country, particularly in the Dirty South since.

It isn’t a coincidence that the GOP is race baiting and suppressing votes as its faced with 2 stellar Black gubernatorial candidates in GA and FL and a charismatic, unapologetically reliable White ally running for Senate from TX.
They double down on the past to fight the future.

We are witnessing Confederate, Jim Crow tactics resurfacing in 2018 b/c White supremacy knows it’s under sustained attack, exactly who’s bringing it, and exactly how to use the American political system to escape total defeat. They get by w/help from the politically indifferent.

If that doesn’t wake you up, might I remind you that they also get by with help from Russia and any other foreign adversary that seeks to control our government by sufficiently propagandizing the White electorate over the Internet? This is where we are, these are the stakes.

If you can take stock of all of these sobering facts of American political reality and still take the power of your vote or the votes of marginalized people for granted, I not only question your intelligence and patriotism but your humanity. The time to pick a side is NOW, y’all.

At this point American elections need to be monitored by independent, international observers, especially in the former Confederacy. Never forget that the corrupt, racist SCOTUS sanctioned this premeditated attack on Black voters. #BlackVotesMatter
