When Dr Palpu met Swami Vivekananda in Mysore, he described the condition of Kerala. It is true there was caste based descrimination but Vivekananda's travel from Shornur to Kanyakumari also revealed the massive proselytising by missionaries in Kerala. Low caste were forced t.co/G9ic2b5iyj
To convert. The evangelization was such that the pastor's would stand at entrance of temples and coerce people. Is it not safe to assume that Swami Vivekananda witnessed the same and made his comment?
It is important to know what Swami Vivekananda told Dr Palpu. He said, only a spiritual revolution can bring change in Kerala. Soon Dr Palpu found Sri Narayana Guru who not just countered the casteism but stopped conversion in massive proportion in Kerala. Image
Dr Palpu gave his son to Narayana Guru's mission. He came to be known as Nataraja Guru who wrote various commentaries on Vedanta.. important to note Narayana Guru's contemporary Chattambi Swami who wrote 'kristumatacheddanam' , the first critique of Christianity. It was banned. ImageImage
If Dr Palpu hated Hinduism, he wouldn't have encouraged his son to be an ascetic. Nataraja Guru wouldn't have started Brahmavidya Mandir.

Vedanta is what brought back sanity to Kerala.

The #kadavallur sree #rama kshetra. The most ancient Rama temple of Thrissur with rich inscriptions that dates to pallava period & beyond. Holds many info about ancient times. The sole witness of Kerala's rig veda chanting competition #anvonyam. Long #thread. Will post 1 daily.
.#kadavallur was a sanskrit and vedic university as children from prominent vedic schools from the #panniyur faction (Thrissur Brahmaswom madom) and #Thirunavaya representing #Sukapuram used to compete by chanting 10,472 rigvedic mantras in 7 stages as part of #anyonyam (2/n)
A scholar shared with us that there are records that indicate from BC 238 - 1778AD #anyonyam was managed by Vanneri-perumpadappu and later came under Kochi kingdom. The temple is under @ASIGoI. Notice the golden word #secular in the pic?

Humbled by the power of #Ayyappa .He brought together common Hindu folks across the world in one mantra. This kind of unity has never happened. He made RSS change it's stance. Sangprachalak had to reietrate. He rattled nutcase swamy lawyer. He single handedly exposed (1)
All the anti Hindu forces. He forced the crooked athiest CPIM goons to yield to His will. He shamed the SNDP liquor seller by his own son. He killed TRPs of all the propaganda news channels. People living North of the vindhyas came in support in exponential numbers.
He invigorated the otherwise aloof NSS into action. He exposed the asuric Kerala police. He elevated Devi Shakti into action. He broke the cadre strength of athiest government into half.
He exposed the criminal and bootlicking female journalist.

All this in just a week's time.

#Kerala architects stood out in their mastery over wood sculpting. If you ask, why most of the temples in Kerala are not so architecturally minute in their making, the answer is: wood. Cheras largely worked with wood. This is the koothambalam of #haripad Subramanian temple. Image
Because the entire structure was made of wood most of the grand temples succumbed to fire accidents. It was easy for invaders to raze it too. But remnants of it exist only in a handful of temples. See this video. #haripadsubramanian temple.
