On this day 100 years ago in 1918, the Parliament (Qualification of Women) Act was passed which allowed women to become MPs for the first time. Allowing them to sit and vote in the @HouseofCommons#Vote100
Women were no longer to be disqualified by sex or marriage from sitting as members in the @HouseofCommons. It was a very short Act, only one page long #Vote100
We're celebrating 100 years of women MPs, encouraging more women to stand for election. Find out how you can become an MP: parliament.uk/get-involved/e…#Vote100
