Atensión queridos porque este cuadro tiene varios guiños a Valencia, tierra natal de Juan de Juanes o Vicente Juan Masip (1507-1579) :)
En primer lugar la naranja, que en este podría ser de variedad amarga (como alternativa al maror vegetal) o dulce, que ya se cultivaba a pequeña escala a mediados del s. XVI cuando este cuadro se pintó.

Ojo al pan, que es claramente fermentado en vez de ácimo.
Y después el cáliz, que no es otro que el Santo Cáliz de la Catedral de Valencia. Trasladado a la ciudad en 1424, se cree que pudo ser el verdadero Grial.

Juan de Juanes lo pintó en numerosas ocasiones.
