NDP Leader @AndreaHorwath : Yesterday, the Toronto School Board started issuing “bumping notices” as more teachers are displaced due to Ford's cuts. And the Halton Board heard from 7,000 parents who reject the govt's cuts. They want consultations. Will Ford provide it?
(NOTE: After providing no notice that the Premier would be absent from questions in the legislature, Ford is a no-show this morning) #onpoli
NDP Leader @AndreaHorwath: Cancer screening is vital for early detection of cancer. It can save lives. Among the $2.7B in Ford's health cuts is a $22M cut to cancer screening – a nearly 20% reduction. Can Ford explain eliminating one-fifth of the cancer screening budget? #onpoli
Horwath: Ford Conservatives expect us to ignore the experts and evidence:
✂️Cuts to cancer screening
✂️Cuts to Public Health
✂️Cuts the hospital funding
A total $2.7 billion cuts to healthcare and a return to Mike Harris era of closing hospitals, beds and firing nurses. #onpoli
Horwath: Ford's cuts mean fired teachers, larger classes, fewer courses and more classroom cuts. Ford finally admitted he was wrong to cut public health, childcare and emergency services, why is he unwilling to take time before imposing these reckless cuts on our schools?
Horwath: The people of Pikangikum First Nation are facing serious threat from forest fires. A state of emergency has been declared. I spoke with Chief Amanda Sainnawap about the need for more planes to get people out. Can Ford tell us what help Ontario is prepared to offer?
Horwath: The Chief expressed concern that smoke may soon hinder the visibility of aircraft to land. Clearly every bit of help matters.
Will Ford commit today to ensuring that Ontario unconditionally provides whatever help is needed to protect the people of Pikangikum?
NDP MPP @RakocevicT: The Toronto @Raptors are headed to their first ever NBA finals tonight!! #Wethenorth!

But game one Raptors tickets sold out within 30 mins thanks to scalpers, forcing Raptor fans to pay $2000 for a seat. Even standing room on the balcony is $1000...
Rakocevic: One of the first things the Ford govt did was side with scalpers and rip up protections that would have capped ticket resales at 50% above their original value. Why does Ford believe that @Raptors fans should be gouged like this? #WeTheNorth #onpoli
Rakocevic: Rather than stand up for sports fans, the Ford govt sided with scalpers and they sees no problem with tix resold for $60,000. When it comes to ticket sales there is no transparency — will the Ford govt reverse course and actually protect fans? #onpoli #WeTheNorth
Ford only showed up after Opposition Leader @AndreaHorwath’s questions. 🤔 #onpoli

Confused by how Ford's words don't line up with his actions?

It shouldn't be up to Ontarians to read between the lines. You deserve a transparent government whose words turn to action.

Until then, the Doug Ford Language school is here to help.
Ford-ism: I'll give it everything I've got.

English: I'll find someone to blame instead of take action.
Ford-ism: I'll be on landlords evicting tenants like an 800lb gorilla.

English: I'll make it easier for landlords to evict tenants while also refusing to provide rent relief.

Today, the courts ruled against Doug Ford’s cut to OHIP coverage for Ontarians when they’re travelling.
This makes SEVEN court battles lost by Doug Ford and his PC govt, wasting precious public dollars defending his cutting agenda. #onpoli

There’s a lot to unpack here, first of all, the ‘free market’ would not have the business opportunity to operate COVID-19 tests at a high price if the gov’t was on top of testing – but they’re leaving people behind.
Everyday Ontarians are waiting hours in line to get their COVID-19 test. While the gov’t has been saying for months that “they’re hammering away at testing” but experts disagree: ontariondp.ca/news/fact-chec…
If testing was as easy and accessible as it should be with a public health system, there would not be a market for $400 testing kits for those that can afford it. Demand the gov’t invest in testing now: ontariondp.ca/demand-covid-1…
