Confused by how Ford's words don't line up with his actions?

It shouldn't be up to Ontarians to read between the lines. You deserve a transparent government whose words turn to action.

Until then, the Doug Ford Language school is here to help. Ford-ism: I'll give it everything I've got.

English: I'll find someone to blame instead of take action.

A timeline of Merrilee Fullerton, Doug Ford’s Minister of Long-Term Care, downplaying how many seniors are getting sick and dying in long-term care, playing a callous numbers game to avoid having to spend money to hire staff and implement infection control measures. 1/6 On Sept. 22, there were 58 resident cases:

There’s a lot to unpack here, first of all, the ‘free market’ would not have the business opportunity to operate COVID-19 tests at a high price if the gov’t was on top of testing – but they’re leaving people behind. Everyday Ontarians are waiting hours in line to get their COVID-19 test. While the gov’t has been saying for months that “they’re hammering away at testing” but experts disagree: ontariondp.ca/news/fact-chec…

Ahead of Labour Day and in the midst of a pandemic, we reflect on the rights we have fought for together, and the wins still ahead of us that ensure everyone has what they need to thrive and nobody gets left behind. Image The labour movement brought us the 8-hour work day and the weekend so workers can live a balanced life. For those in the gig economy, these work hours don’t always apply.

We are here to fight for stable jobs that everyone can live off of. 2/ Image

The data shows COVID-19 exacerbates existing social and economic differences.
We cannot ignore how government response hurts those already left behind the most. So many were already feeling left behind before the pandemic hit, and now we are seeing devastating consequences. Ontario deserves better, we all deserve better from those in power.

Ford’s response to #COVID19 is all over the map and shows his govt has no plan to help migrant workers:

Ford issues guidance “allowing positive asymptomatic workers to continue working” 1/ June 30: Ford says he supports Windsor Health Unit decision to ignore his guidelines & prohibit workers from working with #COVID19:

Deaths like Regis Korchinski-Paquet's, Ejaz Ahmed Choudry’s & Chantel Moore’s are part of a historical pattern. Police violence against BIPOC is systemic and must be addressed across all institutions.

This month we launched a survey on Long-Term Care. At the end of the survey, we invited Ontarians to share their personal story. The response was overwhelming. We could tweet out a story every day for 8 years and still have more to tell. ontariondp.ca/long-term-care… Every preventable death and mistreatment of an individual living in Long-Term Care is a tragedy. A tragedy that has ripple effects. The family members, loved ones, underpaid and overworked PSWs, and others carry this pain as well.

Since April, 9 Black, Indigenous or racialized people in Canada have died in interactions w/ police. We need an unprecedented shift in how we view policing & community health & safety.

Here are some first steps govt can take now to start building a safer future for all. 1/9 Over 70% of Canada's police-involved fatalities involve mental health & addictions, & a disproportionate number of the dead were BIPOC.

That's why we must invest in alternative first responders to respond to mental health, addictions & homelessness calls, instead of police. 2/9

FACT CHECK: Today Doug Ford claimed that Ontario has the lowest rate of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents of any large state or province. Ontario failed to hit #COVID19 testing targets yet again today. Ford says he's “all over” testing & promised numbers would improve. But Ford has been making the same promise since April:

Ford on April 8: “So there are no more excuses. We need to get it done, bottom line.” 1/5 Ford on April 10: “We are ramping it up… we are doing everything we can to test as many people as possible.”

Ford on April 30: “Believe me I was all over it this morning, they absolutely promised it’s going to be over 14,000 tomorrow and moving forward.” 2/5
