NDP Leader @AndreaHorwath: London Health Sciences announced they will be cutting the equivalent of 165 full-time positions due to budget challenges. Can the Health Minister explain how eliminating 165 front-line health workers will help eliminate hallway medicine? #onpoli
Horwath: London hospital CEO: “It's been very tough to operate in this environment. To operate a business where expenses are inflationary and revenue is flat…” Hospital funding falling behind inflation a cause of hallway medicine under Liberals—a recipe for hallway medicine now.
Horwath: The Ford govt cuts:
✂️Cuts to public health.
✂️Cuts to ambulance services.
✂️Cuts to cancer screening.
And now eliminating frontline hospitals health staff.
If this is healthcare after one year of Ford govt we don’t want to see what the next three years will bring.
NDP Transit critic @JessicaBellTO: The Minister directed #Metrolinx to cut five GO bus routes, and reduce service on two more. These cuts mean commuters in #Oakville, #Milton, #Bolton & #NorthYork will have to cram on to overcrowded GO buses, and face even longer travel times.
Bell: The estimates that came out last month show that the Ford govt slashed $184 million from Metrolinx’s budget. It is now clear that the Minister’s cuts to #Metrolinx’s budget means axing bus service that people rely on every day. #onpoli#ONtransit#gobus
NDP Labour critic @jamiewestndp: There's a pattern of accidents leading to deaths at Fiera Foods and its affiliates but the Labour ministry failed to investigate. Will the Minister commit to proactive workplace safety inspections of Feira Food affiliates? thestar.com/news/investiga…
West: Since the death of the 4th temp worker at a Fiera biz this govt has cut at least $16 million from programs meant to prevent workplace injuries & deaths. Will the Minister of Labour commit today to ordering proactive workplace safety inspections of all Feira Food affiliates?

Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott lied when they said their decision to cancel many public health protections was based on expert advice.
A TIMELINE OF LIES brought to you by Doug Ford's Conservative government:
Doug Ford, Nov. 3: “This framework was developed in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Public Health Measures Table, local medical officers of health, and other health system experts.” #FordLied#Covid19#Covid19Ontario
FACT CHECK TIMELINE: As Ontario reaches yet another record high number of new #COVID19 cases, Doug Ford needs to explain why he and his govt have been minimizing the impact of COVID’s second wave on Ontario families, and cutting back on public health measures...

October 6 — 548 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ontario.
Today, the courts ruled against Doug Ford’s cut to OHIP coverage for Ontarians when they’re travelling.
This makes SEVEN court battles lost by Doug Ford and his PC govt, wasting precious public dollars defending his cutting agenda. #onpoli
There’s a lot to unpack here, first of all, the ‘free market’ would not have the business opportunity to operate COVID-19 tests at a high price if the gov’t was on top of testing – but they’re leaving people behind.
Everyday Ontarians are waiting hours in line to get their COVID-19 test. While the gov’t has been saying for months that “they’re hammering away at testing” but experts disagree: ontariondp.ca/news/fact-chec…
If testing was as easy and accessible as it should be with a public health system, there would not be a market for $400 testing kits for those that can afford it. Demand the gov’t invest in testing now: ontariondp.ca/demand-covid-1…
