@margalitfox So often in my travels around Ohio, in a small town or on the outskirts of some small city, I'll have this uncanny sense that I've walked into a Morrison novel--some timeless, vaguely late 19th century place with a narrow road and a big tree hanging over a settlement of houses...
@margalitfox Neither explicitly Southern or Northern, really, but instead just somehow of the vast American interior, in the region where people are either hoping to cross the Ohio River or have just come across it and are going to be coming up the road looking for refuge.
