In the 2nd Meditation of #ThatAllShallBeSaved David Bentley Hart provided a translation and commentary of 20+ New Testament passages that support universalism: biblegateway.com/passage/?searc…
#DBHart also provided the original Greek and then his own unique translation in the book. Overall the book is void of references or citations and this was a welcomed list, that also features syllogisms of combined verses that imply universalism.
#DBHart makes the welcome confession that he has "no patience whatsoever for twentieth-century biblical fundamentalism and it's manifest imbecilities." He is willing to admit that the scriptures contains contradictions but unwilling to form theology that contradicts scripture
#DBHart confesses that "I am not very tolerant of what is sometimes called 'biblicism'" and yet his own words betray that he is a biblicist who is unwilling to allow Jesus to criticize all scripture. Moltmann's theological hermeneutic has criticized this covert biblicism.

#DBHart does an excellent job explaining why "hell" is an unacceptable translations for the NT Greek words of Gehenna (Valley of Hinnom), Hades, and Tartarus, and showing that the reference to hell in the NT really do not fit with the concept of a burning hell of torment today
#DBHart finally engages with Hans Urs Von Balthasar's "Dare We Hope" (rather late in the book and without references) but in gloss. He is unhappy with HUVB's dialectic and allowing for tension that betrays biblicism as well.
#DBHart admits that the NT contains contradictions that may be harmonized as supported a literal hell and a figurative/hyperbole universalism or a figurative/hyperbole hell and a literal universalism. He attempts to have it both ways by admitting the contradiction and harmonizing
