Today is the #StateOpening of UK Parliament. Watch the action from the @UKHouseofLords and @HouseofCommons LIVE with us.

The Queen will visit Parliament and give the #QueensSpeech, setting the government agenda for the next Parliamentary session 👑📃

The last #StateOpening was in October 2019. It was a full ceremonial occasion, which meant the Queen wore the Imperial Crown and robes.

The @HouseofCommons also plays an important role in State Opening, both in tradition of the Chamber door being slammed in Black Rod's face and in business. After the ceremony, MPs get to work debating the Queen's speech.

You might manage evidence sessions for a select committee inquiry, or work in the Chambers assisting in the passage of legislation.
