Thank you, @MLAnews for getting this preview of *Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities* out there & available immediately for #covidcampus ! @mkgold@FrostDavis & I worked with more than 60 curators to assemble 59 keywords each w/10 pedagogical artifacts #curateteaching
@MLAnews@mkgold@FrostDavis Here’s how to use *Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities* : Organized by keyword, each annotated artifact can be saved, shared & downloaded. Choose from among 590 annotated teaching materials to help with this emergency move to online teaching bit.ly/2wyZGmb#curateteaching
If you want an overview of how to search and use tags and save your own collections, check out DPiH About How to use the site: bit.ly/3blt5is#curateteaching#covidcampus
Back to proofing “Curating *Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities,*” final section on structure & approach. Had forgotten that tho we have 59 keywords, we’ve got 84 curators — ZOWEE! We had an eye towards diversifying #digped convo bit.ly/2Lp7fzO#curateteaching
DPiH: We had repetition of 16 artifacts, but the divergent uses of the artifacts were integral to demo variance in use, e.g., from “Play” to “Fiction,” from “Archive” to “Intersectionality,” from “Curation” to “Community” bit.ly/2Lp7fzO#curateteaching
DPiH: Yep - "Identifying digital pedagogy keywords allows us to document nodes of activity and to promote dialogue across domains and between silos by creating a shared vocabulary.” bit.ly/3fSodVg#curateteaching
I’m proofing our manifesto…er…intro “Curating *Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities* today while sitting in 3hrs of virtual office hours & recalling all the good stuff we pt to in the collection bit.ly/3algquY#curateteaching#citepedagogy
DPiH: If you and your colleagues are overwhelmed w/how to overhaul your classes carefully & purposefully for an eventual Fall semester/quarter, take a look at what we recommend to do first (hint: learning goals!): bit.ly/35AYjk9#curateteaching#citepedagogy
DPiH: When you’re done there, check our key concepts that mt embed into yr online/dig curr. We’ve identified 5 & provided accompanying ped artifacts & keywords: openness, play, practice, identity, student agency, collaboration bit.ly/3cbrxZ9#citepedagogy#curateteaching
Just finished up another workshop on *Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities* w/ @sjsucfd - looking for Engineering ethics materials & found a boatload of artifacts on “ethics” that can be revised/reused/remixed bit.ly/35AGl0W#curateteaching#citepedagogy
@sjsucfd DPiH: Then a ? abt how to teach tools - instead, we looked at the “But…this all sounds daunting!” section that leads instructors thru constructing learning goals, outcomes, and THEN, AND ONLY THEN, selecting the tool bit.ly/35AYjk9#citepedagogy#curateteaching
@sjsucfd DPiH: despite a few hiccups, we also learned abt creating Collections (ie favoriting) artifacts & explored key concepts for engaging in #digped : openness, collaboration, play, practice, student agency, identity bit.ly/3cbrxZ9#curateteaching#citepedagogy
So much of my DH is STILL #digped & daily DH editorial duties on *Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities* (59 authors, people!) and a forthcoming Syllabus Journal special cluster (yay for pushing out almost-done pubs for our authors when e/t is getting severely delayed) #dayofdh2020
That means a lot of my DH is stuff that doesn’t get seen - *Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities* goes a long way to correct that with #digped & one of the key reasons @mkgold@FrostDavis & I wrote the intro w/a history of the project bit.ly/2KNiSQs#DayofDH2020
@mkgold@FrostDavis It’s also why we begin at the beginning — 2010 — by chronicling 1st convos about this project bw me & @jenterysayers that produced a bunch of #digped workshops & a (not accepted) book proposal (w/the response from publisher that DHers won’t be interested in #digped ) #DayofDH2020
We're kicking off the @LucasCollege@SJSU_HA Disinformation & Fake News panel with news that this speaker series has been generously funded permanently by incredible donors
sjsu.edu/cob/about/cale… gives the topic for tonight - kicking off the convo by defining "disinformation" & "fake news" - ex. Pizza-gate - identifying the media for dissemination beyond simply content, too
Also consider relationships b/w actors & leaders with ex of Russia's disinformation campaign using media set up to look like the real American news media outlets
