Thank you @CBCInstitute for the informational Leadership Town Hall. My staff and I found it very helpful in this dire time. Here are some key points we noted:
1. #COVIDー19 Is a member of the Coronavirus family. COVID-19 is an unfamiliar strain which is why this virus is challenging to treat for health care providers.
We need to take #COVIDー19 serious. Many people compare it to the flu and that is not the case. This disease is twice as contagious. If someone is infected, they can spread it to 3 people.
Specifically, Black communities are suffering heavily from #COVIDー19. This is due to pre- existing racial health care disparities. States that are severely suffering are: CHI, LA, MI, N.C, and S.C.
The one thing we can do while sheltering in place is to fill out the #Census2020. In 2020, the Urban Institute estimates 4 Million Black families will go uncounted. Our communities need these resources. We are losing out on billions.
I encourage you all to remain updated with @TheBlackCaucus. In addition, please reach out to myself for any questions/concerns. Us public servants are here to serve YOU.

It has recently come to my attention that there are some disturbing voting trends developing in our area that need to be addressed. 1st, there are some in the AA community encouraging other people of color to write in “REPARATIONS” for president instead of @JoeBiden/@KamalaHarris
Simply put, this must stop. By not voting for @JoeBiden@KamalaHarris , you’re essentially voting for four more years of chaos, division and derision by the current administration.
2nd, I have been made aware that there are people voting for me by writing in my name for 1CD on their ballot. This too must stop. I have not asked for people to do this nor do I want this practice to continue. We must do everything we can to increase the size of the
I have enjoyed this season working with our community and working to help us every day.
We have experienced many hardships that inspired my run for Congress, but none compare to this Pandemic.

My biggest concern was to do my best to help us find a safe path through this crisis. I put a focus on keeping my family safe while seeking resources for members of the community in need. I will not stop doing this because we all need the help and we can work together.

Everyone we were able to help, from a woman in need of her medication to an older couple in need of toilet paper. Whether your need is seemingly simple or very complex, I am here to find you help.
Attention Northumberland County! have been getting reports that there may be problems with curbside voting in the Democratic Primary. Cont.
While I have heard from the county that curbside voting is now available, there have been reports that paper ballots have previously not been available, requiring voters to go inside to use the touchscreens.
Cont.
If you are intending on voting in the Democratic Primary in Northumberland County, please make sure to bring masks and any other safety equipment you need for being in an indoor space.

We had great weather here in the 1st District and I'm truly hoping all the dads enjoyed it. No matter how you became a father, you have a hard job, being a dad.
This area makes its living from the hard labor of our Watermen. They need our support now more than ever. Our Watermen catch and raise marine life from rockfish to oysters. They are small businesses that keep the region going.
Since her strong campaign 2 years ago, Vangie Williams has been working tirelessly in our community to lift up the voices of working people and make Virginia a better place.
I’m proud to support her for Congress"
