That new Joe Biden ad is xenophobic bullshit.

The two white men fighting to be president of a country which - despite its wealth and power - has failed the most in its #COVID19 response, are doing their most to cover up that failure with anti-China racism.

In case you were wondering if Joe Biden would try to lure racist shits aka Trump voters by using racism, now you know.

That ad is an absolute disgrace.

To be clear: I have zero support for the Chinese regime. It must be held accountable for its authoritarianism and human rights violations which predate #COVID19. Remember the way they silenced & endangered the lives of whistleblower doctors.

But that is not what this ad is about

There is a way to hold China accountable. And this ad is not that way.

This ad is Biden trying to outdo Trump’s anti-China racism.

And this is at a time when attacks against people of Asian descent in the US are on the rise.

This Biden’s version of Trump’s “China virus.”

AND the Biden ad is a reminder that racism is NOT JUST a GOP predilection.

White supremacy exists among Republicans and Democrats.

As I always yell and scream when it comes to women in politics: misogyny is there in the left, the right, the middle.

Racism is endemic to the US.

That these two white men - both accused of sexual assault, both racists - will compete for the presidency of the wealthiest and most powerful country in the world is a reminder of WHY WE ARE IN THE SHIT WE ARE IN RIGHT NOW.

They represent the ROT that has brought us here.
