THREAD: @GovofCO says he has a lot of important information to share in this press conference. I'll do my best to keep up here. @KDVR
GOOD NEWS: @GovofCO says daily hospitalization rate is "leveling off." Governor has received 1st application from a county to open back up: Eagle County.
#Breaking Polis says he expects to be in Eagle County Thursday or Friday this week to re-open the first county in Colorado. Polis says they've been early on restrictions, and have done a great job. @KDVR
State Epidemiologist Rachel Herlihy is now going through the difference scenarios of what rolling back #StayAtHome order could look like, while still using strategies like social distancing, tracing and testing.
.@CDPHE has 6 different scenarios (A-F) to see which combined strategies will ensure Colorado doesn't exceed their ICU bed threshold. The final scenario (which combines the most strategies) is the only one that safely is under that line.
.@GovofCO says as the #StayAtHome expires next week, the hard part will be figuring out how we can adjust behavior over time. He says this will be a marathon. @KDVR
NEW: @GovofCO says retail can re-open on May 1st. Curbside pick-up should still be emphasized. With restrictions, shoppers can come in. @KDVR
Elective surgeries can return with precautions, along with individual showings. Dentists, salons, and barbershops will be allowed to open back up with extreme measures.
#Breaking@GovofCO says event venues, bars and restaurants are still going to be closed. They need to find out what data tells them from initial roll back. He hopes he can set a date for mid-May. @KDVR
Polis acknowledges the big differences #COVID19 has had on individual counties. Trusts local health departments to adjust orders and guidelines based on what they're seeing.
.@GovofCO starts to wrap by saying he trusts the people of Colorado to make good choices, and that retailers will be able to make decisions with safety top of mind. @KDVR
"There is no Government, County or State that can keep you safe better than yourself." - @GovofCO. Says we have to move on in a way that's sustainable for months, or however long it takes. @KDVR

Over the weekend hundreds partied at @CUBoulder with little social distancing or mask wearing. Students are calling for CU to go full remote before a major outbreak. @KDVR
A spokesperson for @bouldercohealth issued the following statement calling these gatherings “unacceptable and frankly unlawful.” So far the county health department hasn’t issued any warnings or fines to @CUBoulder.
So far @CUBoulder has found 16 positive #COVID19 cases through its medical services. This doesn’t include outside testing. They’re working on wastewater testing to be able to detect any community spread. @KDVR
Council now discussing ahead of a vote. Councilwoman Angela Lawson says she will NOT be voting for Wilson. She calls the process political. She supports Chief Wilson, but wanted Marcus Dudley to be the pick.
Councilwoman Bergan says she supports @APDChiefWilson, saying she truly cares about @AuroraGov and the residents, and is willing to make changes for accountability within @AuroraPD.
THREAD: Recently got these numbers from our #ProblemSolvers CORA request.
Since 2018, @DenverPolice has spent roughly $584,000 on less-than-lethal munitions. In 2020, the department spent more than 2X on these items than the previous two years combined. @KDVR
2/ According to Denver administrators, @DenverPolice doesn't budget for these items. DPD purchases them as needed, and the cost is absorbed in the budget as an expense. @KDVR
3/ As much as these expenses look large, as I previously reported, @DenverPolice spent more than $2.6 million in overtime covering the first few weeks of unrest through the #GeorgeFloyd protests downtown. @KDVR
