Of the deaths registered in week ending 10 April 2020, 6,213 mentioned "novel coronavirus (COVID-19)" on the death certificate, which is 33.6% of all deaths.

In London more than half (53.2%) of deaths registered in week ending 10 April 2020 involved COVID-19.

Of deaths involving COVID-19 registered up to week ending 10 April 2020, 83.9% (8,673 deaths) occurred in hospital, with the remainder occurring in care homes, private homes and hospices ow.ly/wqvY30qzu8f #COVID19 #coronavirus
Comparing total deaths registered by place of occurrence between week 11 (when first COVID-19 deaths were registered) and week 15, shows a 99.4% increase in care home deaths, 72.4% increase in hospitals, and 51.1% increase in private homes ow.ly/2GwY30qzubj #coronavirus

We’re working with the @CareQualityComm (CQC) to better understand deaths occurring in care homes. From 28 April, we will publish counts of deaths involving #COVID19 in care homes, based on reporting from care home operators to the CQC ow.ly/EELn30qzuex #coronavirus
