Authorities executed juvenile offender Shayan Saeedpour in Saqqez, W #Iran. He was arrested at the age of 17 after turning himself in at a police station for murdering an individual during a street fight back in August 2015.

The mother of the individual killed by Saeedpour had agreed to pardon his crime & thus have the execution canceled based on the mullahs’ own laws. However, the public prosecutor entered the prison, opposed the pardon & had Saeedpour executed.

Only after one question authorities ruled he had been mature enough to realize the nature of his crime. However, a source close to Shayan's family said he suffered from mental illness & had been under psychiatric counseling when he committed the crime.

Saeedpour was executed for his participation in the collective escape of prisoners in Saqqez prison, northwest Iran. Authorities had him quickly executed after his arrest to send a message to all the inmates.
