I was pretty stunned to learn from this piece that "civic engagement has been dormant on the left for decades." What a mindless slap to the hard and often risky work I and other LGBTQ, feminist, environmental and other left activists been doing for YEARS.

While I am thrilled that young Gen Z activists are learning Zoom and doing what many of them have been doing on Twitter for a decade, there has to be a way for straight white men to write about political activism without framing it solely as defined by straight white men's POV.
I am so deeply personally offended by this piece and by the retweeting of it by folks who clearly didn't read it. The dismissal of the activism of marginalized groups is rampant. But in this context is even more shameful because this story purports to uplift the left.
