We need to see:
- AHS purchasing specification for these masks
- how Vanch was qualified as a supplier
- the test results of the pre-purchase samples
- the QC test results before release to front line cbc.ca/news/canada/ed…
There are both logistical and health concerns with @AHS_media plan to remove the plastic wrappers from the masks here on arrival. Indefinitely.
Logistical: This is 200-500K masks/day. Who is going to unpack them, and where, to keep the masks clean?
Which VOCs, at what levels, from Vanch's mfg process are trapped in plastic wrappers? What are the acceptable levels? What testing is being done before release to frontline workers?
"They continue to try and procure other types of acceptable alternative procedural masks, including expecting large orders (in the millions) of new types of procedural masks by the end of April."
In my 3rd tweet of this thread, I mentioned some English translations of YY/T 0969-2013 nose piece say "pliable"; others say "plastic". I accidentally posted same screenshot of "pliable" twice.
I don't have full YY/T & ASTM standards to find other differences. Has AHS done so?
AHS risking life w claim Vanch masks on Chinese YY / T 0969-2013 = PRI•MED ASTM F2100-11 (2011).
Coronavirus 0.125 µm particles aren't stopped by a 3 µm filtration standard.
Chinese YY 0469-2011 is closer, but Vanch doesn't make masks to that standard.
Their Compliance & Risk Management Unit confirmed today they are working my complaint about the BYD FE2411 Children's Masks that LaGrange/Hinshaw claim are "medical-grade".
#COVID19AB Non-Medical Masks
Misrepresented as Medical Masks
From the outset, the Hinshaw/Lagrange Plan knowingly distributes Non-Medical Masks of such poor quality:
• Manufacturer does not recommend > 4 hours use
• Students must be issued 2 per day
#COVID19AB Rapid Antigen Self-Test Approvals 🧵
Health Canada v Europe
Premier Kenney continues to gaslight anyone who will listen on this topic. Today he did it in response to @JuliaWongCBC question around the 47:20 mark of today's COVID theatre.
He worked up the outrage to claim:
• usual distortion & deflection about federal deliveries
• Health Canada has only approved 5-6
• European regulators have approved over 60
• He has been asking feds since April 2020 to approve more tests
So let's look at these claims...
Of the 103 tests Health Canada has approved:
• 37 Point-of-Care Rapid Tests*
• 10 Self-Test*
• 27 Antigen Tests
Since the Alberta government loves to compare its COVID-19 performance to worst-affected jurisdictions on earth (eg USA), or New York City Schools for reopening, it's only fair to compare:
IMO, AB Health is falsely inflating age 5-11 stats, using 2 separate gambits:
1. Mixing kids who got regular, adult dose for turning 12 in 2021 into current age 5-11 getting paediatric doses now. 2. Poaching doses from age "Unknown".
I've taken the liberty of annotating @bcCOVID19group Dr Karlen's Alberta Graph by adding:
• translation for log scale to 100, 1000, 10,000 etc
• AHS baseline 173 & maximum 380 ICU capacity
• previous record Hospitalization from AB Health
