We all are bearing a lot, and it is making a real difference.
While cases initially doubled every 3 days, it is now taking about 9 days––3 times longer––for confirmed cases to double in Virginia. That means our growth rate has slowed and the curve is flattening.

Hospitalizations and ICU admissions are stable, and so far we remain well below our total hospital capacity.
And more good news: over 1,600 #COVID19 patients have been successfully treated and discharged from Virginia hospitals.

Virginia will need to see the following to enter Phase One:

Virginia needs to test a lot more—just like every state.
We have a goal of testing at least 10,000 Virginians each day. To do that, we will rely on help from the @VaNationalGuard, community testing, and private, hospital, and commercial labs.

We have also put together a #COVID19 Business Task Force, which represents diverse industries, geographies, and backgrounds from across the Commonwealth.
These folks are providing valuable input for how we can reopen safely and responsibly, and strengthen consumer confidence.

Things will look different in the future––Phase One is not a return to normal. Virginians will continue teleworking, social distancing, and wearing face coverings.
