Minister of State for Health, @DrMamora: Exactly Two months today since Nigeria’s Index Case of #Covid19: today a total of 1,273 confirmed cases in 32 States and the FCT. 239 persons treated and discharged; 40 deaths so far.

BREAKING: Special #Covid19 Hazard and Inducement Allowance of 50% of Comsolidated Basic Salary is to be paid to all health workers in @NigeriaGov Teaching Hospitals and Federal Medical Centers and designated #Covid19 centers, to last for the first 3 months in the first instance.
BREAKING: 40% of the Consolidated Basic Salary will be paid as Special #Covid19 Hazard and Inducement Allowance to health workers at special non-public hospitals and clinics in Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies for a 3-month period in the first instance. #PTFCOVID19
BREAKING: 20% of Consolidated Basic Salary will be paid as Special Risk Allowance additionally on the Special #Covid19 Hazard and Inducement Allowance, to all Health Workers directly managing #Covid19 at Infectious Diseases Hospitals, Isolation and Treatment Centers. #PTFCOVID19
BREAKING: 10% of Consolidated Basic Salary will be paid to non-core medical professionals working in health sector and operating at aforementioned hospitals and clinics, as special #Covid19 allowance, for three months in the first instance. #PTFCOVID19

DG @NCDCgov: There’s no State I’ve visited more often than Kano, since I became DG in 2016. Just last week I visited again and met the Governor and we had fruitful discussions. We have since sent a Response Team to support the State Government. #PTFCOVID19
DG @NCDCgov: The AKTH Lab in Kano was contaminated and biosafety measures had to be strengthened. In the interest of all the health workers in AKTH we had to shut down the Lab for a few days. I’m pleased to say we are reopening the Kano Lab today. #PTFCOVID19

DG @NCDCgov: In last 72 hours we sent a team to work day & night to reactivate AKTH lab in Kano. This has not been an easy effort by any stretch of the imagination. We will not stop till the Lab is fully functional again. We are also working to activate a 2nd lab at BUK, Kano.

National Coordinator, #PTFCOVID19: We have been working with our donor partners to ensure all aspects of Kano Response - testing, logistics, etc - are sorted out.
