Polis says they've hit the goals Colorado set going into #StayAtHome:
✅Slowed the spread of the virus
✅Bought time to build healthcare capacity
✅Bought time to grow testing capacity & supplies
.@GovofCO says he will go into more detail about what the state has done to obtain testing during a press conference on Wednesday. #COVID19colorado
Here's a look at @GovofCO's talking points on transition to #SaferAtHome. He hopes this will help with economic, social, mental and physical struggles of strict restrictions for months.
"This isn't a mission accomplished moment. It means we've avoided a catastrophe." -@GovofCO thanks Coloradans for #StayingAtHome, so we have the ability to start opening up.
"We're going to be watching the data every single day, and if the numbers start to climb at an unsustainable rate, we'll have to move backwards and not forwards." -@GovofCO. #COVID19colorado
Here's a clear timeline for this week's roll out. Note at the bottom: these guidelines don't matter if your local county has extended #StayAtHome. Today, only curbside retail and real estate should begin. @KDVR
Polis says they're working on guidelines for restaurants to re-open, but says they "don't have a date for that yet." @KDVR#FOX31#COVID19colorado
.@GovofCO says each county has 3 choices: match the state, more restrictions, or less. Conditions for more flexibility include: low number of new cases, cases declining for past 14 days, and early warning systems. Need approval from local health dept., hospitals + county govt.
On campgrounds re-opening in Colorado campgrounds, Polis says there's two criteria: 1) Many communities are not ready for tourists coming in 2) Protocols around cleaning campgrounds are tricky

Over the weekend hundreds partied at @CUBoulder with little social distancing or mask wearing. Students are calling for CU to go full remote before a major outbreak. @KDVR
A spokesperson for @bouldercohealth issued the following statement calling these gatherings “unacceptable and frankly unlawful.” So far the county health department hasn’t issued any warnings or fines to @CUBoulder.
So far @CUBoulder has found 16 positive #COVID19 cases through its medical services. This doesn’t include outside testing. They’re working on wastewater testing to be able to detect any community spread. @KDVR
Council now discussing ahead of a vote. Councilwoman Angela Lawson says she will NOT be voting for Wilson. She calls the process political. She supports Chief Wilson, but wanted Marcus Dudley to be the pick.
Councilwoman Bergan says she supports @APDChiefWilson, saying she truly cares about @AuroraGov and the residents, and is willing to make changes for accountability within @AuroraPD.
THREAD: Recently got these numbers from our #ProblemSolvers CORA request.
Since 2018, @DenverPolice has spent roughly $584,000 on less-than-lethal munitions. In 2020, the department spent more than 2X on these items than the previous two years combined. @KDVR
2/ According to Denver administrators, @DenverPolice doesn't budget for these items. DPD purchases them as needed, and the cost is absorbed in the budget as an expense. @KDVR
3/ As much as these expenses look large, as I previously reported, @DenverPolice spent more than $2.6 million in overtime covering the first few weeks of unrest through the #GeorgeFloyd protests downtown. @KDVR
