David Singleton, 42, head of procurement for NHS London, North and East, who has been working at the capital’s Covid-19 Nightingale hospital, launched the business two weeks ago to trade in visors, masks and gowns.

What’s worse, if what he said was right, his superiors thought it was OK.

What the hell is wrong with them?

The business was called “Sure Stock” selling both to the private sector AND the NHS! He said he acted as a go between for suppliers and buyers.

We know that in Italy they think that the hospitals became virus spreading hubs.

The spread of the virus through communal establishments is striking.

So in Bristol they are testing 130 healthcare workers twice weekly over 3 months and monitoring them for symptoms. Image

Sheila Bird is on the Royal Statistical Society COVID-19 task force. Relieved they have picked up on the ineptitude of lumping test data from different groups together is unhelpful.

A test should not be recorded as a test until swabs are taken, and data on date/age/sex recorded Image

Before their time - UK/Italy study
MOST covid-19 victims who died in hospital lost 11.1 yrs for men, 10.2 for women....Fully 20% of the dead were reasonably healthy people in their 50s and 60s, who were expected to live for another 25 years on average.

A pretty big study. Looked not just at the comorbidities of nearly 7k Italians but also a smaller sample of Scottish victims.

Then compared it to the data of 850k Welsh people to work out life expectancy of those with same conditions - no Covid.
Britons faired slightly worse than Italians but not by much.

But - no - most would NOT have died anyway but for COVID.

However the COVID cohort were all hospital admissions
