A short thread on the new #Facebook 'Off-App Data Usage and how to disable it.

In short, Facebook now gets your data even when the app isn't running.
Go to your Settings ... then 'Your Facebook Information' ...
Then down to 'Off-Facebook Activity' and click 'View' ...
Then to 'Manage your Off-Facebook Activity' ...
Then AGAIN to 'Manage your Off-Facebook Activity' ... (they really make you jump through hoops for this) ...
Then AGAIN to 'Manage Future Activity' ... (they already have your previous data) ...
Then turn it off.
You'll get a warning, because Facebook really want your data. Remember - your data is their product.
Some may call this a tad paranoid, but there is no control over who Facebook sell this data to, for what, or when.
Note that it may look different in the Mobile App, or any third party client you use.

Short thread on the combined Google/Apple API for Global Contact Tracing:

For the first time (I think, ever?) Google and Apple teams have collaborated to create the small bit of code to enable iPhone and Android Devices to run various Contact Tracing Apps.
This code is being unrolled worldwide in tranches, and will be dropped to your device within, I think, the next 5 weeks.

Depending on your settings, you may or not see a notification for it. If you do, accept it. You can trust it.
Note : This is not the Contact Tracing App. It's the Code that makes Contact Tracing possible, which various nations applications will call on.

Almost all nations have chosen this route - which keeps data on your phone and only on your phone.

This is called 'Decentralised'.

Regarding those 128 fake #NHS Staff accounts posting for 'Herd Mentality' and support of the Govt that were set up by @DHSCgovuk or their marketing agency ...

Posts were sent using Hootsuite, a mass-posting tool. Account registered to 1 person with 4 assigned contributors.
@DHSCgovuk The one person has been identified.

Despite the @DHSCgovuk reply to my queries of 'no comment' (and that's all she wrote), that person is a contracted Government employee temporarily assigned to this department.
@DHSCgovuk I offered to provide all data to the @DHSCgovuk for purposes of internal investigation.

They declined.

I asked to deal directly with their Soc Med and Comms team to work through the data.

They declined.

Our digging continues.
