Seasonality of #COVID is underappreciated. Most human viral disease occur in distinct cycles. This is especially true for respiratory infections. We don´t know the reason for this, but it´s NOT simply “the weather”.

In a double-blind placebo-controlled trial conducted, nonimmune volunteers were given attenuated live influenza vaccine intranasally. Febrile reactions were observed in 6.7% of 360 volunteers inoculated in Leningrad in January, compared with 0.8% of 197 in June.
Fourfold rises in antibody titer were seen in 31% to 40% in Krasnodar in January, depending on the vaccine strain, compared with 4.3% to 4.8% given the same strains in May and October (all p <0.001)
