I posted the letter w/o (holding back from) expressing my view. Now let me say I believe his rationale of "playing dead" to accept the death toll is a defeatist, nihilistic, mea culpa to the virus. We can surely do better than this. 1/2
By protecting people and gaining time, we can build on the initial drug efficacy success, along w/ convalescent sera, neutralizing antibodies. I'm optimistic we'll see lower fatality rates in the months ahead, no less maintain hope for a vaccine. We need an active approach. 2/2
