I have complicated thoughts on Bridgegate, but, basically, since New Jersey prosecutors were too weak and cowardly to put Chris Christie in jail, then nobody should have gone to jail.

I have complicated thoughts on Bridgegate, but, basically, since New Jersey prosecutors were too weak and cowardly to put Chris Christie in jail, then nobody should have gone to jail.
Unfortunately, if nobody goes to jail for Bridgegate than it basically means that public corruption is no longer a thing that Courts have a problem with.
Which is too bad because there are some corrupt public officials out here [gestures broadly]

But we've been trending in this direction: where courts and prosecutors simply refuse to go after public corruption (unless you're black) for a long time now.
