Interpreting the results (this is a starter for 10 where there is excess road space, many other options exist):…
This preliminary work was done by @talbot_joey, @DrMalcolmMorgan and @cyclestreets
This work flags major arterial routes that may have a spare lane at a time of reduced traffic. A wide range of other interventions is possible, including preventing through traffic as illustrated here and making roads temporarily one way.
The work has been mentioned in a @BBCBusiness news article by @RHarrabin:… seems bike sales are going through the roof 🚲🚀
For a summary of *real world* (not potential as our work highlights) pop-up interventions in the UK, see this excellent summary map by @WeAreCyclingUK:… Lots going on in this space and lots of news coverage.
For a press release on this by @WeAreCyclingUK and ways to get involved to support evidence-based interventions to allow more space for walking and cycling at this vital time see here:…
Interactive results for #London (feedback on results from people with local knowledge welcome!):…
Interactive results for #Manchester (lots going on here already I know, does it coincide with local knowldge?):…
Interactive results for #Leeds (interested to hear feedback form local knowledge cc @LeedsCyclists, @MarinerWY, @TheSocBiz @Leeds_Highways and others):…
Interactive result for Liverpool:…
And results for #Cambridge (where there are not that many dual carriageways near the centre as discussed with @cyclestreets):…
